Timeline Highlights
- July 1, 1995: County awards contract to Our Space and NAMI-Greater Milwaukee to develop a Consumer Satisfaction Team (CST).
- September – October 1995: First staff hired.
- November 16, 1995: First interviews are conducted (at Greenfield House, a group home operated by Transitional Living Services).
- December 6, 1995: Helpline begins operation.
- July 29, 1998: Agency incorporates as nonprofit 501(c)3 agency.
- May 1999: First private grant received ($4,500 from Gardner Foundation).
- Fall 2001: Annual Mental Health Statistics Improvement Program (MHSIP) survey administered for the first time.
- Summer – Fall 2003: Board develops strategic plan for 2003 – 2007.
- March 21, 2004: Agency moves to current location on Hawley Road.
- January 1, 2006: CST changes name to Vital Voices for Mental Health.
